The Dancers

Rusty Forsmark has always loved dancing, but was in college when she took her first modern dance class. While in college she represented her school at the Miss Indiana Scholarship Pageant where she received a trophy for her dancing talent.  Rusty’s dance experience includes Highland dance in addition to her ballet and Irish dance. She takes bag piping lessons and has recently taken up the Irish fiddle!

Piper Call is the founder, director and choreographer for the Inisheer Irish Dance Company.  Piper has been performing dance since she was 8 years old.  In addition to being an Irish step dancer for over 10 years, Piper's experience with other dance forms include: square dancing, Appalachian clogging, English Country Dance, Contra Dance, Irish set dance, Sean nos Irish step dance, English clogging and Cape Breton step dance.

Virginia Boone has been playing flute since she was 10 years old and has played Irish whistle for 10 years. Virginia studied Irish dance under the tutelage of Kathleen Barnard of the GlasTara School of Irish Dance. She has won numerous awards for her dancing, but most important she says, are the “friends she’s made along the way!” Virginia is the 2007 "Dancer of the Year."

Lynn Wingate is a Scottish Country dancer in addition to being an Irish dancer.  Lynn is the recipient of the Inisheer Irish Dance Company's "Dancer of the Year" 2006. 

Julia Ellis has been dancing ballet and tap since the age of three. She began dancing with the Inisheer Irish Dance Company in 2005 and has since been continuing her soft shoe, hard shoe, and traditional Sean Nos training. Julia is the recipient of the Inisheer Irish Dance Company's "Outstanding Performer" award.

Erin Lynn Sattler has been dancing ballet, tap, and jazz since the age of 3, and has been dancing with Inisheer Irish Dance Company since 2005. She is planning on continuing her soft shoe, hard shoe, and Sean Nos training. In her spare time, she loves reading, practicing dance with her best friend, Julia, and spending time with her friends. Awards include: Best Dynamic Duo, and the Claddagh Award.

Kate Forsmark is a Premier level Scottish Highland dancer with the Dubock School of Highland Dance. Kate has won numerous trophies and medals including 2nd Runner-up at the Ohio Open Championships. Kate enjoys traveling to competitions and the friends she has made along the way. She also enjoys the opportunity to perform with her Highland dancing buddy, Lauren and the Inisheer Irish Dance Company.

Dawn Bruijnzeel is not only the newest Inisheer dancer, but she is brand new to the world of dance. Inspired by the beautiful melodies and rhythms of Celtic music, she took her first dance lessons with Inisheer in July of 2007. She immediately fell in love with Irish dance and has been learning soft shoe, hard shoe, and traditional Sean Nos forms.  Dawn enjoys the challenge of learning new steps and is motivated by the energy and talent of the other dancers.

Jean Sperbeck began contradancing in 1996. Her husband, Darren, exposed her to Irish music in 1997 and she was enthralled with the tunes and rhythms.  She enjoys the physical challenge of Irish dance, the mental challenge of learning new steps and loves the thrill of performing.

Kathleen Bowes performed with the Niall O'Leary School of Irish Dance for many years while she lived in New York City. 

Lauren Robinson is a multi-talented young lady who is a Premier level competitive Scottish Highland Dancer with the Dubock School of Highland Dance. She competes throughout the Southeastern U.S. and has won several trophies and numerous medals. Lauren also mesmerizes audiences with her beautiful singing voice while performing with Inisheer. She is also quite active as an actress in plays throughout the year.
